NFI was founded and is staffed by working creative artists who bring a wealth of knowledge and industry expertise, as well as an open and independent way of thinking. Our teaching style follows a round-table philosophy and focuses on a collaborative and participatory exchange of information and ideas. We recognize that wisdom is a journey and everyone is always learning.
We believe in shared ownership of creativity, and students who achieve certain standards of excellence will become shareholders in the collective creative output of the school. Our program is innovative and includes a week with industry insiders at the Sundance Film Festival, as well as an entrepreneurial fund for select graduates.
And we’re in Nashville, TN. Creative City USA. The Third Coast. Imagine that. Apart from our loyalty to Nashville and our desire to contribute to local economy, we believe in it as both an economic destination and an ever-growing artistic resource. It is becoming a force to be reckoned with on the international stage, and a great place from which to think global and act global.
