JUSTIN BAKER Justin started his career in the visual media world as an editor of media from television commercials to full-length feature films. He has worn many hats in the production field but found his passion in motion graphics. “I really got into editing in Final Cut but felt like I wanted to do more with the titles and graphics I was creating. I bought a copy of After Effects and spent the next year consuming every tutorial I could.” After working at a production company for a year or so creating motion graphics for television commercials, Justin went freelance and has been working with several clients on a variety of different projects. On one of those projects, Justin was hired to do some animation for a cell phone company and needed to incorporate some 3d models into the piece. This began his obsession with Cinema 4D and all things mograph. “Much like After Effects, once I started using Cinema 4D, I couldn’t get enough of it. The integration between AE and C4D makes my workflow seamless. I love learning new techniques and tricks in C4D and I really love sharing what I’ve learned to turn other’s on to such a great program!” |

Born and raised in the spotlight of Hollywood, Carla began her career as an actress in commercials at the ripe old age of three. By eleven she landed a recurring ‘school kid’ part on the long running show “the Waltons,” where she spent her adolescent years going to school on set at Warner Bros. studios. Spending the summer on the set with John Wayne (the Cowboys) is still one of the highlights of her life. After graduating from college with a degree in business, Carla was accepted into the World-renowned school of acting “the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute,” in West Hollywood, where she spent several years preparing for deeper more meaningful roles on stage and screen. Venturing into the musical side of the entertainment industry brought Carla to Nashville, TN, where she decided to start her life anew and discovered the endless possibilities for independent filmmaking in middle Tennessee. She founded the Nashville Film & Video Association’s Actors Alliance, and has been a member of the Screen Actors Guild Nashville Branch Council for seventeen years. Carla continues to pursue her own career as an actor, still photographer, fine artist, and producer of independent filmmaking. SCOTT SIMMONS
Scott Simmons was born in rural West Tennessee and didn't really realize that movies and television programming had to be made by actual people until he went to college. After getting degrees in both Television Production and Graphic Design (though not at the same time) he was in one of the early graduating classes at the Watkins Film School in Nashville, Tennessee. During that time at Watkins he discovered editing. While most of his classmates in film school wanted to be directors, Scott saw real career opportunities in post production and took a job as an assistant editor after completing film school. In 1999, Scott took the leap into freelancing. The years of freelancing in a market like Nashville gave him the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects from music videos and live concerts to commercials and television programs, industrial and corporate pieces to documentaries and the occasional narrative film. If you can name it, Scott has probably cut it. In 2007, he accepted a position as a staff editor at Filmworkers - Nashville. He has worked on projects from artists including Kenny Rogers, Kenny Chesney, Ronnie Milsap, Rodney Atkins, Mercy Me and Rhonda Vincent to name a few. Television networks include programming for CMT, Nickelodeon, Great American Country, Speed, HGTV, Gospel Music Channel and ABC Sports. In 2005 Scott created The Editblog, a blog dedicated to all things editing and post-production which is now located as part of Pro Video Coalition, a website that brings together some of the best writers in the film, video and technology space. He's also a contributing writer to Studio Daily and Studio Monthly, one of the leading film and video trade portals on the Internet. Someday he hopes to edit on a beach with a touch screen device, a wireless hard drive and a Red Stripe. |
